The Student Union Government (SUG) of Modibbo Adama University, Yola (MAU), has issued an official notice warning students against engaging in any hostel reservation transactions following a temporary system glitch on the hostel portal.
According to the notice dated February 12, 2026, the SUG clarified that the recent brief opening of the hostel portal was not official and occurred as a result of a system error. The union emphasized that the hostel portal has not yet been officially opened and that the legitimate opening will be announced by the university management at any time from now.
The SUG further warned students that buying or selling hostel spaces is strictly prohibited. It stated that any student found involved in such transactions—whether as buyer or seller—will face penalties from the school authorities.
Students have been advised to remain patient and await an official announcement from the management regarding the opening of the hostel portal.
