The management of Federal Polytechnic, Idah has released the schedule for the 2025/2026 orientation programme for newly admitted students, following approval of the academic calendar by the Academic Board. The orientation is set to run from 23rd February to 28th February, 2026, and will cover key academic and examination guidelines.
According to an internal memo from the Dean of Student Affairs, the programme will begin with Departmental Orientation on Monday, 23rd February, 2026, by 10:00 a.m. at venues to be decided by respective Heads of Departments. Topics to be discussed include the semester system, calculation of Grade Point Average (GPA), and registration procedures, with Heads of Departments and Exams Officers serving as speakers.
This will be followed by the Schools Orientation Programme on Tuesday, 24th February, 2026, for students of all schools. The session will hold from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at venues to be fixed by the Deans of various schools. Discussions will focus on examination conduct, misconduct and penalties, and other examination-related matters, to be delivered by School Exams Officers and Deans.
The Polytechnic community has been advised to take note of the schedule and ensure full participation of newly admitted students.
