NECO Announces 2026 National Gifted Examination for Admission into Federal Government Academy, Suleja

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced that the 2026 National Gifted Examination for admission into JSS 1 of the Federal Government Academy, Suleja, Niger State, will hold nationwide on Saturday, 23rd May, 2026.
According to NECO, the examination is for gifted and talented children across Nigeria seeking admission into the Federal Government Academy Suleja. The academy provides a specialised learning environment aimed at developing students’ intellectual potential in line with national development goals. Successful candidates benefit from Federal Government scholarships covering tuition, boarding, feeding, uniforms, external examination fees and basic textbooks.
Eligibility
Only final-year primary school pupils who will not be more than 11 years old by December 2026 are eligible to apply.
Registration Procedure
Registration for the 2026 National Gifted Examination is strictly online. The registration fee is ₦5,940 per candidate. Interested parents, guardians and head teachers are to register candidates via the NECO portal. Applicants are required to:
Create an online account using a phone number and email address
Activate the account through email
Make payment through approved channels such as card, USSD, bank branch, internet banking, eNaira or wallet (bank transfer is discouraged)
Complete candidates’ biodata, upload a passport photograph and print the photocard
Registration Period
Registration opens on Monday, 5th January, 2026, and closes on Saturday, 23rd May, 2026. The registration portal will close by 9:00 a.m. on the examination day.
