The Student Union Government at the University of Uyo has issued a directive requiring all students and associations to officially notify the Directorate of Health, Environment & Welfare before organizing any health-related activities.
In a statement signed by Comr. Eme Bassey, Director of Health, Environment & Welfare, the directive covers events such as health outreaches, medical screenings, awareness campaigns, and other interventions aimed at promoting student well-being.

According to the notice, this measure is to ensure proper coordination, compliance with institutional and health regulations, and the safety of participants. The Directorate also expressed openness to collaboration with students and groups seeking to promote health and welfare on campus.
The statement warned that activities not communicated within the required timeframe may not be recognized or permitted to hold.
Students and associations have been urged to cooperate in fostering a healthier and safer university environment.
