UNIPORT SUG bans all social, religious events as exams advance

The University of Port Harcourt has announced an immediate suspension of all social gatherings, religious programmes, and related events on campus, citing the advancement of the semester examination period.

In a memorandum issued on March 2, 2026, by the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. C.C. Wokocha, students were informed that no approvals would be granted for any such events until the conclusion of the exams.

The directive, referenced UPH/SA/DEN/040, applies to all shows and religious activities and is effective immediately. The statement also thanked students for their cooperation in ensuring a conducive environment for examinations.
