Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare announces temporary closure

The management of Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare has announced the immediate temporary closure of the institution following a directive from the Bauchi State Government.

According to an official circular signed by the Registrar, Abdullahi Babbaji (DPA, BA. Ed, PGD), the state government has ordered the shutdown of all schools across Bauchi State—including primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions, as well as federal and private schools—due to prevailing security concerns.

The statement confirms that the College will remain closed until further instructions are issued by the government.

The Provost emphasized full compliance with the directive and urged staff and students to remain vigilant, advising them to promptly report any suspicious activities to security agencies.

However, staff on essential services are exempted from the closure. These include:

Security personnel

Gardeners

Borehole operators

Animal herders

Clinic staff

They are instructed to continue reporting to their duty posts.

The resumption date will be communicated by the government in due course.
