The College of Education and Legal Studies (COELS), Nguru, Yobe State, has officially released the approved academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session. The announcement was issued by the Directorate of Academic Planning on 26th November 2025.
According to the calendar, registration for the new academic session will commence on 8th December 2025 and run until 2nd January 2026, spanning four weeks. The ETTC is scheduled to meet and approve the lecture timetable on 11th December 2025, while lectures for the first semester will begin on 15th December 2025.
A late registration window will be available from 5th to 16th January 2026, lasting two weeks. Teaching practice for NCE III students will run from 12th January to 1st May 2026. Matriculation for new students is fixed for 21st January 2026.
The first semester will include a Ramadan break from 9th to 22nd March 2026, after which lectures will continue until 11th April 2026. First semester examinations are scheduled from 13th to 25th April 2026, followed by a two-week semester break from 27th April to 9th May 2026. External moderation and result consideration will hold between 18th May and 13th June 2026.
The second semester begins with ETTC’s timetable approval on 4th May 2026, while lectures will run from 11th May to 21st August 2026, totaling 15 weeks. Second semester examinations will take place from 24th August to 5th September 2026, after which a break will begin on 7th September 2026.
SIWES and court attachment for diploma students are scheduled from 14th September to 24th October 2026. External moderation and consideration of results will hold from 28th September to 23rd November 2026.
The resumption date for the 2026/2027 academic session is set for December 2026, with the specific date to be announced later. The institution also noted that all public holidays will be observed as officially announced.
