ABU notice on screening of new student, 2025/2026

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has released the schedule and guidelines for the screening and verification of certificates for students newly admitted for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

According to the Special Bulletin issued by the university, the first phase of the screening exercise will run from December 1 to December 15, 2025, while the second phase is scheduled to commence on January 6, 2026.

The University Management has directed newly admitted students to adhere to the following instructions:

1. Document Upload:

Students are required to visit the University Post-UTME portal to upload scanned copies of essential documents, including:

JAMB result (for UTME candidates)

JAMB admission letter

NIN slip

Indigene certificate

Birth certificate

O’level certificate(s)/statement of results

A’ level certificates/statement of results (for DE candidates)

Attestation letter or affidavit (if applicable)

2. Result Verification:

Students must present scratch cards or PINs for verifying their O’level results. For A’ level credentials, original certificates must be presented. In cases where originals are unavailable, a “certified true copy” must be provided.

3. Portal Access for Payments:

Upon successful screening, students will gain access to the University portal to generate REMITA for the payment of school charges. Afterward, they can print their University admission letter and reserve a bed space via the portal.

4. Bed Space Warning:

The university warned students against engaging in any form of bed space buying or selling, noting that giving out or trading allocated bed spaces is prohibited and attracts penalties.
