The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) Alumni Association has issued a directive ordering an immediate cessation of all convocation fee payments to the University’s Microfinance Bank.
In a press release signed by the National President, Engr. Uwakmfon Micheal, the association announced a significant shift in the payment process following engagements with the university leadership. The move comes after widespread dissatisfaction among graduates over additional bank and processing charges imposed on the initial payment platform.

Effective immediately, all graduates are instructed to make payments exclusively to the university’s official account with Globus Bank.
Key Resolutions:
· Payment Halt: All transactions with AKS Microfinance Bank regarding convocation fees must stop immediately.
· New Payment Details: Graduates should remit payments to:
· Account Number: 1000533136
· Bank: Globus Bank
· Fixed Fee: The approved fee remains ₹45,000.
· No Extra Charges: The resolution emphasizes that there will be no bank charges and no additional processing fees imposed on graduates.
The Alumni Association stated that these resolutions are aimed at ensuring the convocation process remains accessible, transparent, and fair. The NEC urged all concerned parties to comply accordingly as discussions with the university management continue to ensure a smooth and equitable convocation exercise.
