ASUU–BUK Conducts 2026 Branch Election, New Executives Emerge

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), ASUU–BUK Branch, has successfully conducted its 2026 Branch Election at Bayero University Kano.

According to a public notice released by the Electoral Committee (ELCOM), the election was held on 16 February 2026, with members participating peacefully and in an orderly manner. Following the conclusion of the exercise, ELCOM officially declared the results and returned all candidates unopposed as winners of their respective offices.

Elected Officers (2026):

– Chairman: Ibrahim Tajo Siraj — Pure & Industrial Chemistry.

– Vice Chairman: Umar Yusuf Madugu — History

Secretary: Sani Safiyanu — Political Science.

– Assistant Secretary: Mohammed Mustapha Jibrin — Biochemistry.

– Treasurer: Kabiru Haruna Isa — History.

– Financial Secretary: Mohammed Salisu — Accounting.

– Investment Secretary: Ibrahim Tafida — Agricultural Economics & Extension.

– Welfare Officer: Mansur Abdul Muhammad — Geography.

– Internal Auditor: Sirajo Lawan Bichi — Mathematical Sciences.

ELCOM congratulated the newly elected executives and commended ASUU members for their cooperation and discipline throughout the election process.

The notice was jointly signed by ELCOM 2026, ASUU–BUK Branch.
