The Students’ Union wishes to inform all students about the recent increase in transportation fares affecting movement to and from campus. This development has raised understandable concerns among members of the student community.
We want to clearly state that the increase in transport fares is largely a result of the recent rise in the price of fuel across the country. This situation has affected transport operators and consequently led to adjustments in transportation costs.

However, students should be assured that the Union is not taking this matter lightly. The Students’ Union Government (SUG), under the leadership of the Comr. Joseph Adomu Adopisa in collaboration with the Director of Transport, is actively engaging and holding meetings with the relevant transport authorities to ensure that a fair and affordable transportation price is agreed upon for the benefit of all students.
We sincerely appeal to all students to remain calm, patient, and cooperative during this period while discussions are ongoing. The welfare and well-being of our students remain our utmost priority, and every necessary effort is being made to ensure that transportation remains accessible and affordable for the student community.
The SUG President and the Director of Transport are fully committed to resolving this issue as soon as possible and will keep students updated on any progress made.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
