The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (Gidan Kwano Campus), has announced the immediate suspension of bike (Okada) operations within the school premises.
In a press release issued on February 25, 2026, and signed by the Public Relations Officer, Comr. Nurudeen Muhammad Liman, the union stated that the suspension takes effect from Thursday, 26th February, 2026, until further notice.

According to the statement, the decision was reached after several meetings and negotiations with the Bike Association regarding approved transportation fares. Despite mutual agreements, the union reported persistent cases of price hiking and non-compliance with the stipulated rates.
The SUG leadership emphasized that the welfare of students remains its utmost priority, declaring that it will not tolerate any action that imposes unnecessary hardship on the student body.
Students have been urged to bear with the union as it actively works towards resolving the impasse. The statement assured that alternative arrangements to ease movement within the campus would be explored and communicated soon.
