The Student Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University Wukari (FUW) has officially released a comprehensive set of rules and guidelines to ensure a hitch-free and orderly celebration of the upcoming Students’ Week.
In a statement signed by the SUG President, Comr. Theophilus Katon Chidonku, the union emphasized that compliance is mandatory for all students, noting that the festivities do not exempt anyone from the university’s standard regulations.
Respect for Faith and Decorum: Students are required to adhere to dress codes that respect both Islamic and Christian faiths. Any form of indecent dressing that contravenes religious sensibilities is strictly prohibited.
Total Ban on Camouflage: For security reasons and to prevent confrontations with security agencies, students are strictly forbidden from wearing any clothing made from camouflage fabric throughout the duration of the event.
Strict Adherence to University Dress Code: The Students’ Week is not an excuse for fashion violations. All students must continue to dress in accordance with the established rules and regulations of the Federal University Wukari.
Zero Tolerance for Indecent Behavior: The SUG has expressed a strong stance against indecent behavior or dressing. Students are expected to uphold the dignity and integrity of the student body at all times during the festivities.
General Compliance: As Students’ Week is an official university activity, all existing university policies remain in full force.
The Student Union Government, in collaboration with University Security, will be actively monitoring all events to enforce these rules. The announcement clarifies that any student found in violation of these guidelines will be subject to appropriate disciplinary measures as outlined by the university administration.
