Lagos State University (LASU) has started reviewing the admission forms submitted for the 2025/2026 UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise.
This comes after several candidates noticed error messages on their admission dashboards. Some applicants were flagged with the notification: “DISQUALIFIED – DISCREPANCY IN STATE OF ORIGIN.”
Investigations show that the issue mostly affects candidates claiming Lagos State origin without completing the mandatory Indigeneship Verification Exercise. Instead, some tried bypassing the process by selecting another state of origin. However, since LASU cross-checks applicants’ bio-data directly with JAMB, such discrepancies were easily detected.
It should also be noted that LASU had previously opened its Correction of Data Portal for weeks to allow candidates fix errors before registration closed.
At this stage, LASU is only reviewing and processing submitted forms. The institution has not yet released any admission list for UTME or Direct Entry applicants. Candidates are therefore advised to remain calm and wait for further updates from the school management.
