UNIBEN notice on planned power outage

Please refer to above subject matter being a notice from the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) on planned power outage.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is carrying out construction of TURN-IN AND TURN-OUT OF BENIN AJAOKUTA 330KV SINGLE CIRCUIT (SC) TRANSMISSION LINE AT IHOVBOR POWER PLANT SUB-STATION. In view of that, there would be power outage from 8.00hrs to 16.00hr daily for a period of thirty-seven (37) days, from Friday 27th February to Saturday 4th April, 2026 (37 Days) on the following Feeders:

i. Egba 33KV

ii. UNIBEN 33KV

ill. Ihovbor 33kv

iv. Oluku 33KV

Accordingly, the Vice Chancellor has directed that this development be brought to the attention of the University Community, with the assurance that the University Management will take necessary measures to ensure that the normal processes in the University are not affected as a result of this maintenance exercise.

Members of the University Community are enjoined to kindly note the above, and endeavor to adapt to the situation while it lasts.
