University of Maiduguri has announced a temporary adjustment to its official working hours in observance of the Holy month of Ramadan.
According to a circular issued by the Office of the Registrar with reference number R/ADM/ESTABS. 154/Vol. V dated Wednesday, 18th February 2026, the revised office hours take immediate effect from Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
The statement explained that the adjustment was approved by the Vice-Chancellor in order to reduce the hardship associated with fasting during Ramadan.
Approved Office Hours During Ramadan
- Mondays to Thursdays: 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
- Fridays: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Members of staff are advised that this arrangement is strictly for the duration of the Holy month of Ramadan. The University will revert to its normal office hours once the Ramadan period concludes.
On behalf of the University Administration, the Acting Director of Human Resources, ASC Amina M. Abdullahi (Mrs.), conveyed warm Ramadan wishes to all Muslim staff members.

The circular was copied to the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Registrar, Bursar, University Librarian, Director WPP&DD, Provosts, Deans and Directors, Heads of Departments/Units, all notice boards, and for file copy.
